BestChange-listed exchanger complaints

Summary

What the record shows

BestChange compares rates and publishes reviews for third-party cryptocurrency exchangers. Recent Trustpilot and forum posts include allegations that users relied on listed providers, lost access to funds or received inadequate help after disputes. These are consumer allegations rather than adjudicated findings, and several concern the conduct of the listed exchanger rather than BestChange itself.

At the time reviewed, Trustpilot displayed 383 BestChange reviews: 78% five-star and 8% one-star. The negative reports include claimed losses involving Prime_EX and BitcoinBox, an AML-related PayMarket delay and other listed providers. BestChange responded that one complained-about exchanger was removed pending clarification, that another case was refunded within about four days, and that it needed verifiable transaction information in another case.

Key findings

What is established and what is not

  • A BestChange listing, review count or position is not a guarantee that a particular transaction will complete or that funds will be recoverable.
  • Multiple public complaints raise a legitimate reliability question about vetting, complaint visibility and the speed or effectiveness of escalation involving some listed exchangers.
  • The transaction counterparty is ordinarily the selected third-party exchanger. Attribution must distinguish that exchanger’s actions from BestChange’s role in listing, monitoring and complaint handling.
  • Users should independently verify the exchanger’s legal identity, jurisdiction, terms, AML policy and complaint history, and should use a small test transaction before committing a material amount.

Response and denials

The other side of the record

BestChange’s FAQ says it is exclusively an informational resource, does not guarantee transactions and has no legal connection with or control over listed exchangers. Its terms likewise say it is not the buyer, seller or exchanger and is not a party to transactions.

BestChange says it can suspend or remove exchangers that breach participation rules and publicly invites financial claims. Its replies to complaints say it contacts exchangers, evaluates transaction evidence and may change a claim’s status when AML or other facts remain disputed.

The predominantly positive Trustpilot distribution and reports of successfully resolved disputes are important contrary evidence. They do not invalidate individual losses, but they prevent the available review record from supporting a blanket conclusion that BestChange itself is fraudulent.

Global Scam Report evaluation

Summary assessment

GSR fraud-risk rating: HIGH RISK (red). Global Scam Report applies its highest precautionary rating to reliance on BestChange listings when selecting a transaction provider. Multiple public complaints allege losses, frozen transfers or inadequate resolution involving listed exchangers. The evidence does not establish that BestChange itself received the disputed funds or committed fraud; the rating focuses on reliance risk, listing oversight and dispute handling.

Scope qualificationThis assessment does not label every listed exchanger unsafe and does not attribute a third-party exchanger’s conduct to BestChange without evidence. Consumer-review platforms contain unverified and disputed claims; read the original review, response and transaction evidence together.
